Tiltify’s Charity Plaza returns to TwitchCon San Diego

Back to the blog

The TwitchCon Charity Plaza presented by Tiltify is back, and we’re doing it bigger than ever before.

During last year’s Charity Decathlon (a showdown between partnered streamers facing off for the greater good), this community came together and raised over $200,000 for 10 charities. This year, we’ve got 10 more amazing charities lined up, and a brand new chance for all of us to come together and keep changing the world for the better—all while having a ton of fun.

Before we jump into all the details, these are the 10 charities we’re partnering with this year at the Charity Plaza, along with a brief bit about their missions:

Tiltify charities

  • American Heart Association: For nearly 100 years, the American Heart Association has been fighting heart disease and stroke, striving to save and improve lives.
  • Best Friends Animal Society: Best Friends is dedicated to ending the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters.
  • Feeding America: The Feeding America network of food banks is the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, working to connect people with food and end hunger.
  • Gamers Outreach: Gamers Outreach is a charity organization that provides recreation to children in hospitals through the power of video games and the gaming community.
  • Make-A-Wish: Tens of thousands of volunteers, donors and supporters advance the Make-A-Wish vision to grant the wish of every child diagnosed with a critical illness.
  • No Kid Hungry: No Kid Hungry connects children in need to programs like school breakfast and summer meals, and teaches low-income families to cook healthy, affordable foods.
  • St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: St. Jude is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
  • The Movember Foundation: The Movember Foundation delivers innovative, breakthrough research and support programs to enable men to live happier, healthier, longer lives.
  • To Write Love on Her Arms: To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA) is a non-profit movement dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide.
  • Trans Lifeline: Trans Lifeline was founded in 2014 to connect trans people to the community, resources, and support they need to survive and thrive.

What is the TwitchCon Charity Plaza?

The TwitchCon Charity Plaza, powered by Tiltify is a physical area of TwitchCon dedicated to celebrating all things charity on Twitch. Stop by to learn about our partnered charities, see how you can help raise funds, and chat with streamers who are already supporting them.

Is the Tiltify Charity Decathlon back?

Yes it is! The Tilitify Charity Decathlon is a competition between 10 charities and over 150 Partners, all duking it out in a series of challenges including video games, tabletop games, trivia, and even singing and cooking competitions. The best part? No matter who wins, every charity gets a share of the prize pool.

Awesome. How can I get involved?

There are plenty of ways to help out before and during TwitchCon, and you don’t even have to be in San Diego—though we’d love to see you there.

Before TwitchCon, Quest for the Cause is returning for its eighth year on Twitch to benefit the Charity Decathlon. From September 13-22, streamers all around the world will come together for 200 hours of entertainment to help build up the Decathlon prize pool. Tune in live and donate at /Q4TC starting Sep 13 at Noon PT.

During the show, stop by the Charity Plaza Live Stage, which will feature nonstop content during the Expo Hall hours. All weekend long, you’ll be able to watch some of your favorite creators take the stage as they compete in the charity decathlon, conduct interviews, struct their singing stuff, and more.

If you want to help build the Decathlon prize pool, the link will go live August 15 at https://twitchcon.tiltify.com. Any donations made between then and the end of TwitchCon will be shared between the 10 participating charities. As an added bonus, many of the decathlon competitions will feature incentives that you can donate towards to help (or sabotage) your favorite streamers in their quest for decathlon domination.
